Newark, NJ – We’re possibly one day away from a Stanley Cup Champion being crowned. Still, the ongoing Cup Final hasn’t stopped general managers, specifically Jarmo Kekalainen, from making their offseason moves. In today’s Devils Daily, more than just Kekalainen are eager to get things going and the rumor mill is running rampant. Who could possibly be on the move ’round the NHL? This is the one with all the rumors.

New Jersey Devils

New Jersey Hockey Now: He’s been fantastic in North America thus far, but there’s a chance that Simon Nemec won’t be ready for a full-time NHL role. If he’s not, the Devils might need to dip their hand into the UFA market and find a stopgap defenseman until he is. Here are three options.

Vegas Hockey Now: The Vegas Golden Knights are one win away from lifting the Stanley Cup. On Monday, their fans showed their appreciation for the hard work thus far by showing up at the practice rink and got a little rowdy for their hometown team.

Florida Hockey Now: The emergence of Anton Lundell has been crucial for the Florida Panthers’ success. Despite being a defensive anchor for Florida, he’s tied for the lead in points for the Panthers during the Stanley Cup Final.

Colorado Hockey Now: Rumors were afoot that Erik Johnson played his last game with the Avalanche. Not because he was going to wear a different jersey. Instead, the belief was that the 35-year-old defenseman was going to retire. According to a report, Johnson is not considering retirement.

San Jose Sharks

San Jose Hockey Now: The Sharks have a fast-rising prospect in their system. The Sharks drafted Filip Bystedt 27th overall in the 2022 NHL Draft. After a terrific world tournament and SHL Rookie of the Year honors, Bystedt inked a three-year, entry-level contract with the Sharks. When could they expect to see him in North America?

Philadelphia Flyers

Philly Hockey Now: The Flyers are open for business. First, it was Ivan Provorov, then the rumors ran rampant about Carter Hart. He still might be on the table, however, some new Flyers have been dropped into the rumor mill. This time, it’s Travis Konecny and Scott Laughton.

Washington Capitals

Washington Hockey Now: The Capitals decided on their next bench boss when they named Spencer Carbury as their new head coach. Their former head coach may be landing in his new destination soon, however. According to a report, Peter Laviolette is closing in on the New York Rangers gig.

Los Angeles Kings

LA Hockey Now: The Kings might be in the market for a little grit this summer. According to reports, they’ve turned to Washington to find it. The Kings have called the Capitals and “kicked tires” on acquiring forward Tom Wilson.
