Taking a look at the roster, there are plenty of notable names for various reasons. Hughes is participating in the prospect challenge despite the fact that he is projected to be on the Devils roster full-time in 2023-24. The roster also features a few prospects who will be pushing to make the Devils out of training camp. Those names include Clarke and Nemec. The notable participants that will play for the AHL Utica Comets include Stillman, Hatakka, Vilen, Brennan, and Poulter among others.
Although he’ll be heading back to the WHL Swift-Current Broncos, Filmon is another notable name that New Jersey is high on. The prospect challenge will lead into New Jersey’s training camp next week. You can expect some of the names on this list in attendance at the RWJBarnabas Arena as well.
Seamus Casey is not part of the challenge. The defense prospect has returned to the University of Michigan to begin his season with the Wolverines.
Dawson Mercer’s brother, Riley, is also attending on a tryout in net.
