Devils Daily: Holding New Jersey Accountable, Makar Makes History

The New Jersey Devils were off yesterday following their 5-3 loss to the New York Rangers on Saturday.

The boys in the locker room were none too pleased with the outcome. They’ll have two practice days before they take on the Red Wings in Detroit on Wednesday to sort out their inconsistencies.

The good news? The 5-on-5 play has shown some growth despite the third-period breakdown on Saturday. Plus, the power play continues to look strong. Perhaps, once the team returns to full health some of the defensive deficiencies will sort itself out.

We already know general manager Tom Fitzgerald has shown interest in the defenseman market after reaching out to Calgary. We’ll see if he jumps on it sooner or later.

Elsewhere, Jack calls out his squad, Cale Makar is unreal, and a lapse in judgment dropping mitts with Nicolas Deslauriers.

Let’s do that hockey.
