Devils Daily: Will Devils Trade for a Goaltender?

New Jersey Devils

The woes in net for the New Jersey Devils have yet to rectify themselves. It begs the question, will the Devils trade for a netminder?

It’s ironic given how the one they let go who is now in San Jose is playing so well. A change in scenery was necessary, however. It’s a waste of time to speculate whether or not Mackenzie Blackwood would be having the same success in New Jersey. A fresh start elsewhere clearly did him some good.

More on what general manager Tom Fitzgerald might be up to in the links.

Elsewhere, Patrick Kane made his decision. Is Boston poised to add a defenseman? And Florida’s set to honor a fan favorite between the Sunshine State and Pittsburgh with Sidney Crosby and the gang in town.

Let’s do that hockey.

New Jersey Devils

New Jersey Hockey Now: Devils general manager Tom Fitzgerald continues his search for goaltending. As a matter of fact, a report suggests he’s potentially kicked his search up a notch.

More NJHN: The Devils defeated the Islanders in a 5-4 victory last night. However, it wasn’t a pretty win as the Devils’ goaltending was leaky and the defense was poor. Read up on the takeaways.

Even more: Injuries continue to pile up for New Jersey. This time it’s on the blue line as the Devils lost their No.1 defenseman against the Islanders on Tuesday.

The Athletic: The Devils are on a roller coaster ride this season. Injuries mount, the goaltending is an issue, the defense is poor, yet, their offense at both 5-on-5 and the power play are buoying New Jersey. Is it time to worry about the Devils?

National Hockey Now

Detroit Red Wings

Detroit Hockey Now: The sweepstakes are over at last. Patrick Kane is a Red Wing.

Boston Bruins

Boston Hockey Now: According to sources, BHN is told the Bruins are searching for another defenseman. Therefore, one name they’re looking at is Calgary Flames defenseman Nikita Zadorov who requested a trade.

Florida Panthers

Florida Hockey Now: As an important player in both franchises, the Panthers are set to honor Patric Hornqvist when the Pittsburgh Penguins come to town.

Philadelphia Flyers

Philly Hockey Now: Noah Cates is, in fact, out with an injury and is expected to miss six to eight weeks. The door is certainly open with an opportunity for Morgan Frost.

New York Islanders

NYI Hockey Now: The Islanders have certainly given defenseman Samuel Bolduc enough chances to prove himself. He hasn’t exactly relished the opportunity, but he’ll need to soon.
