Devils Daily: Sharangovich Picking Up Pace for Flames, Casey Makes Team USA

Over here in Devils country, it’s easy to ignore what’s going on in the West. Tyler Toffoli broke through last night, recording a goal and an assist to break a six-game pointless streak. However, over in Calgary, Yegor Sharangovich is picking up the pace for the Flames.

Perhaps, the trade is not as big of a steal as we initially thought.

Elsewhere, Boston’s star winger was ejected last night, Kane is proving himself in Detroit, and the Penguin might have a heavyweight on the blue line.

Let’s do that hockey.

New Jersey Devils

New Jersey Hockey Now: Team USA made their final cuts ahead of the 2023-24 World Junior Tournament in Sweden later this month. Devils prospect, Seamus Casey, made the final roster.

More NJHN: The Devils invaded Nationwide Arena last night as the dads and mentors joined New Jersey on the trip. Hughes’ hat trick and Bratt’s three assists routed the Devils to a 6-3 victory. Read up on the takeaways.

Boston Bruins

Boston Hockey Now: David Pastrnak felt a bit nasty on Saturday night. The Bruins star forward was ejected from the game after boarding New York Rangers defenseman Ryan Lindgren.

Calgary Flames

Calgary Hockey Now: The tides are turning on the Tyler Toffoli/Yegor Sharangovich trade. It looked for a while like the Devils stole Toffoli outright. However, Yegor Sharangovich is beginning to pick up the pace.

San Jose Sharks

San Jose Hockey Now: Here’s what the scouts say about Jack Studnicka’s ceiling and why the San Jose Sharks didn’t claim the center off waivers when he was available.

Detroit Red Wings

Detroit Hockey Now: The Red Wings might be faltering lately, however, that’s not on Patrick Kane. In fact, the star winger is proving he’s still plenty capable of playing in the NHL following his hip resurfacing surgery.
