Published

New Jersey Devils

The NHL Trade/Roster freeze is upon us. It takes effect Wednesday, Dec. 20, at midnight and runs until Thursday, Dec. 28. Many rumors are swirling, especially on the goaltending market, on potential movement around the league. The New Jersey Devils are amid those rumors as they’re potentially in the market for a goaltender, defenseman, or both.

Elsewhere, but similarly, Colorado is targeting a big-name center, can Philly acquire a star winger, and will Chicago sign a former All-Star who is a free agent?

Let’s do that hockey.

New Jersey Devils

New Jersey Hockey Now: John Gibson was not traded mid-game on Sunday despite the speculation following the Anaheim goaltender falling ill. However, the goaltending market is hot and the NHL Trade Freeze is just around the corner.

The Athletic: Pierre LeBrun hits on four hot spots to monitor as the NHL Trade Freeze approaches, and New Jersey is one of them.

Colorado Avalanche

Colorado Hockey Now: According to a report, the Avs are believed to be targeting Calgary Flames center Elias Lindholm.

Philadelphia Flyers

Philly Hockey Now: A report suggests the Blue Jackets are willing to trade “just about anyone.” Although there are a few untouchables, Johnny Gaudreau doesn’t appear to be one of them. Can the Flyers acquire the star winger?

Chicago Blackhawks

Chicago Hockey Now: Phil Kessel is reportedly contemplating a stint in the Swiss-league. However, he’s made it clear he’s eager to return to the NHL. Should the Hawks give “Phil the Thrill” a shot?
