Fans of the Devils are seemingly split on where New Jersey needs to upgrade. It’s a classic. What came first? The chicken or the egg? Except, for the Devils, the question is, “What’s the problem? Defense or goaltending?” There’s no right answer at this point. Perhaps that means the answer is both. We know general manager Tom Fitzgerald has cast a few lines in the pond. We’ll see if there’s a bite.
