The New Jersey Devils host the defending Stanley Cup Champions, Vegas Golden Knights, tonight at the Prudential Center for the first time this season.
The Devils (23-18-3) are 4-5-1 in their last 10 games in their pursuit to put themselves back in playoff position. Like New Jersey, the Golden Knights (27-14-5) are dealing with significant injuries, yet are 6-4-0 in their last 10 games and are on a three-game winning streak.
Both New Jersey and Vegas will be without their Jacks, as Jack Hughes remains out with an upper-body injury and Jack Eichel recovers from lower-body surgery.
Let’s dive further into the Devils’ tilt with the Golden Knights tonight.

Last Game
The Dallas Stars invaded the Prudential Center and staked their flag in the ground. New Jersey started well putting four shots on net in the first minute of the game, however, Scott Wedgewood’s strong net presence swung momentum Dallas’ way. Joe Pavelski broke the game open on a Stars power play and it was all downhill from there. The Stars rallied for an additional five goals between the second and third period eventually claiming a 6-0 lead. Jesper Bratt and Tyler Toffoli scored late for New Jersey, however, it was too little too late.
Daws made 30 saves in New Jersey’s 6-2 loss.
Player To Watch
New Jersey captain Nico Hischier owns a three-game point streak (1g, 2a) and nine points (5g, 4a) in his last 10 games. In his career vs. the Golden Knights, the Swiss center has registered four goals and six points in nine games.
