The New Jersey Devils are in Raliegh, North Carolina tonight to face the Carolina Hurricanes.



New Jersey is minus a couple of players on leave, however, received Ondrej Palat back in the lineup who said yesterday morning he’s feeling healthy and ready to play.

The Hurricanes have turned things around of late as they’re 7-2-1 in their last 10 games. Meanwhile, the Devils 2023-24 continues to have its highs and lows. They’re 5-4-1 in their last 10 games.

Last Game

Tyler Toffoli netted a hat-trick including the game-winning goal in the Devils’ 6-5 overtime victory on Monday against the Vegas Golden Knights. After New Jersey took a 3-1 lead over the Golden Knights two minutes into the second period, Vegas rallied back for four straight goals to take a two-goal lead, led by the reigning Conn Smythe trophy winner, Jonathan Marchessault’s two-goal second period. However, A second goal from Curtis Lazar and the OT-winning hat-trick goal from Toffoli secured two points for New Jersey in a gut-check victory over the defending Stanley Cup Champions.

Vitek Vanecek earned the victory making 27 saves against the Golden Knights in 62:35 of play.

Player to Watch

It’s another revenge game for Erik Haula against the Hurricanes on Thursday night. The 32-year-old forward has collected three goals and 11 points in 21 career games against his former club. Last season, Haula collected two assists in four games against the ‘Canes en route to a 2-1-1 record in four games against Carolina. Haula recently tied a season-high six shots on goal in a game on Sat., Jan. 20 contest vs Dallas.
