Devils Daily: MacDermid Rips Rempe, a Devils Trade; Karlsson Ottawa Reunion?

New Jersey Devils

The New Jersey Devils will be off today.

After a physical tilt with the New York Rangers last night, the Devils get a day off to reset their bodies, despite the loss. We’ll have to wait one more day to see if there’s an update on Jonas Siegenthaler. As of last night, interim head coach Travis Green had no update on the defenseman who suffered an injury.

In the links, Kurtis MacDermid did not hide his feelings on the events that transpired involving Matt Rempe. Some reflection on the timing of the Devils’ GM’s reluctance to act. And a trade post deadline explained.

Elsewhere, is Erik Karlsson bound for a reunion in Ottawa? Did teams make offers on Jeremy Swayman? And the Tomas Hertl trade was apparently a long time coming.

Let’s do that hockey.

Devils News

New Jersey Hockey Now: Kurtis MacDermid did not mince words about Matt Rempe’s second dirty hit in as many games against the Devils, dodging a fight against New Jersey’s enforcer. ‘Be a man.’

NJHN Recap/Takeaways: The Devils dropped another two points following Rempe’s ejection. The power play failed and some careless puck play cost them two points. The takeaways.

More NJHN If the New York Islanders’ success is showing us anything right now, it’s that the Devils and GM Tom Fitzgerald waited too long to make changes.

Even More: A Devils trade? After the NHL Trade Deadline? It happened yesterday with the Montreal Canadiens.
