Devils Daily: MacDermid vs. Rempe On? Trevor Zegras Blackhawks Trade?

Tonight marks game No. 75 on the New Jersey Devils’ 2023-24 regular season.

It’s unbelievable that — although the math doesn’t look good — New Jersey isn’t quite out of the race with eight games remaining on the schedule. The Philadelphia Flyers fell to the New York Islanders in overtime yesterday and the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning in regulation to improve their standing.

No one wants that final wildcard spot and it remains unlikely the Devils steal it.

In the links, it looks like tomorrow’s heavyweight tilt against the New York Rangers remains on.

Kurtis MacDermid appeared as a regular participant at Monday’s morning skate and interim head coach Travis Green determined him “very close” to returning. He’ll certainly be looking for Matt Rempe if he’s in the lineup tomorrow.

Elsewhere, Sidney Crosby makes history, Philly’s massive goaltender debuts, and could Chicago scoop up Trevor Zegras?

Let’s do that hockey.

San Jose Hockey Now: The San Jose Sharks’ 2022 first-round pick, Filip Bystedt, whose season with SHL’s Linkoping just concluded, is set to make his North American pro debut soon.

Philly Hockey Now: It didn’t happen the way many would have expected, but the massive 6-foot-8 goaltender, Ivan Fedotov, has officially made his Philadelphia Flyers debut.

Chicago Hockey Now: Rumors swirled leading up to the 2024 NHL Trade Deadline that Trevor Zegras could potentially be traded. He stayed in Anaheim, but should the Chicago Blackhawks pursue the 23-year-old center this summer?
