While watching the Stanley Cup Playoffs, Sam Bennett is a player who has really stood out. It’s become more and more apparent that the New Jersey Devils need a player like him.

Yes, it’s certainly debatable as to whether or not he injured Brad Marchand on purpose. However, he called it a “hockey play,” explaining it was an unfortunate outcome from something he didn’t have the time to premediate before it happened.

More on why the Devils need someone like Bennett at another time, but it’s something to think about for now.

Elsewhere, as a result of Bennett’s impact, Boston players are openly planning their attack. Which Pittsburgh players won’t end up in a Penguins trade? And, why Philly’s goalie was barred from international play for three years.

Let’s do that hockey.
