It certainly was shocking news to hear that a New Jersey Devils division rival purchased CapFriendly for their personal use on Sunday. Now, the reign of PuckPedia is upon us as users will have to shift from one salary tracking site to the other once the former goes dark.

More information on CapFriendly’s purchase in the links below.

Elsewhere, the Florida Panthers know they need to be better in Game Two of the Stanley Cup Final. Another wrinkle in the Matvei Michkov saga, and an update on Mitch Marner’s status on the trade market.

Let’s do that hockey.

2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs

Florida Hockey Now: The Florida Panthers blanked the Edmonton Oilers in Game One of the 2024 Stanley Cup Final. Despite the 3-0 score, the Cats were out-shot 32-18 and — at times — it looked like they were being outplayed. Heading into Game 2 on Monday night, the Panthers could be better.

NHL Trade Talk, News, & National Hockey Now

Toronto Sun: After another disappointing playoffs for Mitch Marner, the Toronto Maple Leafs star has been the centerfold of trade rumors. Some of the time, where there’s smoke, there’s fire. However, according to the Toronto Sun, the Leafs won’t ask Marner to waive his no-trade clause unless they’re blown away by an offer.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Pittsburgh Penguins GM Kyle Dubas explained he’s urgently trying to recoup draft picks while mentioning somewhat of a rebuild plan. Therefore, the Pens are going to have to sell off some assets, starting with some of their veterans. So what are some of Pittsburgh’s veterans worth in a Penguins trade?

NYI Hockey Now: The New York Islanders very well could go through a makeover this summer. It’s rumored that J.G. Pageau and Anders Lee could be moved to create cap space. If so, they’re going to need some depth players who can kill penalties. Here are three options via free agency.

Philly Hockey Now: The board of directors of SKA St. Petersburg, the KHL club of Philadelphia Flyers prospect Matvei Michkov, met on Friday. They concluded that chairman Alexander Medvedev and head coach Roman Rotenberg will remain in their posts for the 2024-25 season. Could that change things — or rather, keep them the same — for the Flyers prospect?
