The two days off in between Stanley Cup Final games is completely understandable. But man, does this ever feel drawn out. The Edmonton Oilers dominated in Game 4 and forced the Florida Panthers to head back to Sunrise, Florida to defend their territory while also trying to claim their franchises first-ever Stanley Cup. Maybe that’s what Connor McDavid was alluding to in some of his comments in Saturday’s postgame. More on that later. Also, some news around the New Jersey Devils.

Said news is yet another update on the Jacob Markstrom situation. It sounds like the two sides are in a standoff.

Elsewhere, what does Pittsburgh do next? Montreal is after Martin Necas? Chicago seeking Valeri Nichuskin?

Let’s do that hockey.

New Jersey Hockey Now: Jacob Markstrom seemingly still wants out of the Calgary organization. It’s been radio silence in terms of a potential Devils trade, however. According to The Athletic insider, Chris Johnston, the Devils and Flames seem to be in a standoff as GM Tom Fitzgerald feels he’s put his best foot forward.
