In the links, the Devils can learn plenty from the Florida Panthers’ Stanley Cup victory.
Elsewhere, a trade between Detroit and San Jose that certainly points to something big in the works for the former. Matvei Michkov officially terminates his KHL contract, and the latest team Jakob Chychrun is linked to.
Let’s do that hockey.
Devils News

NHL Trade Talk, News, & National Hockey Now
Sportsnet: Trades, trades, and more trades. With the 2024 NHL Draft beginning on Friday and the Stanley Cup finally being awarded, the latest rumors suggest a crazy week of transactions are ahead. Some say it’ll even be “bananas!”
San Jose Hockey Now: We’ll talk about what Steve Yzerman is doing a bit later, but the San Jose Sharks certainly benefitted from whatever is going down in Detroit. The Sharks acquired Jake Walman, a solid top-four defenseman who otherwise had a down year, and a draft pick for LITERALLY nothing.
Colorado Hockey Now: The Florida Panthers have quite a few pending free agents leading up to July 1st. There are a few of those pending free agents who would fit the mold of the Colorado Avalanche lineup.
NYI Hockey Now: For the first time in a long time, the New York Islanders are expected to be active this offseason. From trades to free agents and the NHL Draft, here are some predictions for how their summer is going to play out as soon as this week.
Philly Hockey Now: The Philadelphia Flyers announced on Tuesday afternoon that star prospect Matvei Michkov had officially terminated his contract with KHL club SKA St. Petersburg, allowing the 19-year-old to make the highly-anticipated transition to the NHL this season.
Detroit Hockey Now: From the Detroit Red Wings perspective, Steve Yzerman sent Moretiz Seider’s defense partner, Jake Walman, to the San Jose Sharks with a draft pick attached for nothing. It would appear Yzerman is clearing money for something bigger, and soon.
Chicago Hockey Now: The Chicago Blackhawks have been linked to just about every trade rumor right now–or so it seems. Now Jakob Chychrun is the latest name in the rumor mill who has been linked to the Hawks.
