With the NHL Draft just a day away, trade activity is beginning to pick up. That includes the New Jersey Devils who are reportedly interested in a big-name forward on the market. There’s word a Devils trade could come to fruition on the draft floor. More on that in the links.

Jerseys! Fanatics is officially in, and Adidias is officially out. Not much has changed by way of design for the Devils, but plenty of folks, including Devils players, spoke highly of the quality of the Fanatics brand, squashing any negative suspicions.

Speaking of jerseys the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings both modernized old classics as their new uniforms in 2024-25. Each team hit a grand slam.

Elsewhere, Boston is also in the hunt for a player in the mix for a Devils trade. Could the Tampa Bay captain be Nashville-bound? And a late-night trade between Chicago and Vancouver.

Let’s do that hockey.

Devils News

New Jersey Hockey Now: Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald is in the market for just about everything — except for goaltending, he already addressed that need. After losing Tyler Toffoli at the trade deadline, the Devils knew they’d need to fill the top-six void. Fitzgerald is reportedly investigating Martin Necas in a Devils trade.

More NJHN: The era of Adidas brand hockey jerseys is over, and the beginning of the Fanatics brand era has begun. On Wednesday morning, Fanatics and the NHL debuted the on-ice player uniforms for the 2024-25 season. They also took comments from players who wore the previous Adidas brand jerseys, including a pair of Devils players (and brothers).

Even More: With the first round of the draft coming on Friday, NJHNs Nick Natale mocks up how the entire first round might go, including the Devils’ potential pick and analysis for all 32 teams.

More Martin Necas News

Boston Hockey Now: There will be plenty more teams in the mix for Martin Necas. That includes the Boston Bruins who have been seeking a center since Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci retired. No, Necas hasn’t played center in a little while now, but he was drafted as such and has matured as a player since.

2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs

Florida Hockey Now: Former Devils defenseman, Dmitry Kulikov, started his career in Sunrise. After bouncing around with a few different clubs following his first stint with the Panthers, he opted to return where it all began, and did so because he knew the Cats had what it took to hoist the Stanley Cup.

NHL Trade Talk, News, & National Hockey Now

Sportsnet: According to Elliotte Friedman, the Vancouver Canucks and Chicago Blackhawks are completed a deal that sends Ilya Mikheyev and pending unrestricted free agent Sam Laffarty, plus a pick, to Vancouver in exchange for another draft pick.

Colorado Hockey Now: After digesting Casey Mittelstadt’s extension, did the Colorado Avalanche overpay? Underpay? Get it just right? And with the Mittelstadt deal officially done, where does Colorado stand heading into the summer?

NYI Hockey Now: The New York Islanders are certainly going to have to sift through the bargain bin this summer to add to their roster. Jeff Skinner — who is reportedly being bought out by the Sabres — could be one way for them to acuire goals on the cheap.

Nashville Hockey Now: The Nashville Predators are looking to add more star power up front. At this time, Steven Stamkos is a pending free agent, and Barry Trotz is interested in the multi-40-goal scorer.
