Devils Daily: Devils Salary Cap; Draft Grades; Offer Sheets

Offer sheets are so rare in the NHL. The last time we saw that happen, it was between the Carolina Hurricanes and Montreal Canadiens. The Habs inked Sebastian Aho to an offer sheet only to match it and the Hurricanes retained their star player. However, when the Hurricanes retaliated by offer sheeting Jesper Kotkaniemi an offersheet in which he accepted and the Canes didn’t match. One has to wonder if there’s a team thinking to do something similar with New Jersey Devils forward Dawson Mercer.
Elsewhere, a major change in Pittsburgh’s front office. Brotherly love in Sunrise, Florida next season, and the first time you’ll be able to see Macklin Celebrini in a San Jose uniform.
Let’s do that hockey.
