Devils Daily: Devils Projections; ‘Michkov Mania’; Jarry Trade Rumors

Slowly but surely New Jersey Devils General Manager is chipping away at his restricted free agents. Yesterday, it was Santeri Hatakka who secured a new deal. A few days before it was Adam Beckman. Soon, it should be Dawson Mercer, but his deal is going to be a bit more complex than standard two-way deals below $1 million annually.
In the links, the Philadelphia Flyers’ outlook for next season and the early gift they received this summer.
Elsewhere, the Columbus Blue Jackets finally name a new head coach, “Michkov Mania,” and some Tristan Jarry trade rumors that won’t go away.

The Athletic ($): The 2003 NHL Draft class saw a plethora of elite talent play in the NHL. There were enough elite players to ask how many of those players will make it to the Hockey Hall-of-Fame.
Pittsburgh Hockey Now: The Pittsburgh Penguins and goalie Tristan Jarry crossed the imaginary line into free agency last July and yet reunited with a five-year contract signed well into the afternoon on July 1, 2023, and five minutes later, Penguins fans were already inserting Jarry into the NHL trade rumors.
Colorado Hockey Now: The hype is growing around Colorado Avalanche prospect goaltender Ilya Nabokov who the “whole NHL” will know soon.
Philly Hockey Now: The Matvei Michkov hype is growing. Some are even calling it “Michkov Mania.” However, it’s probably fair to temper expectations for the rookie coming to live in North America full-time.
