Devils Daily: Jeff Marek Breaks Silence; Devils Prospect Extends Overseas; NHL Trade News
It’s not every day that a member of the media unites fans from across the 32 NHL teams to show universal support and outpouring of love. However, that’s exactly what happened on Thursday when rumors suggested host/insider Jeff Marek would not be returning to Sportsnet next season. On Friday, Marek broke his silence via X (formerly Twitter), expressing his gratitude for the kind words across the hockey-verse. He then followed by confirming his time at Sportsnet is over. I know I’ll miss listening to his endless hockey knowledge in that encyclopedia mind he possesses. And, of course, talking about the New Jersey Devils.
After 13 great years at Sportsnet, I’m moving on. It’s been an incredible journey and I’m thankful to have worked alongside so many great people and played a role in bringing sports and hockey news to fans across Canada and the world. More to come soon.
– Jeff— Jeff Marek (@JeffMarek) July 26, 2024
There’s little doubt that Marek will land on his feet, and as he indicated in the post, he’ll likely do so soon. We’re all eagerly awaiting to see where our favorite radio/podcast host will end up. Hockey wouldn’t be the same without him.
In the links, a Devils prospect inks an extension overseas, Patrik Laine trade discussion for plenty of suitors, & top goaltending in New Jersey.
