It was certainly a bit of a shock when New Jersey Devils head coach Sheldon Keefe left the supporting coaching staff exactly the same. He explained his decision in a recent interview.

Also, Arseni Gritsyuk’s future has come up again. In the links, his agent explains what his future looks like to New Jersey Hockey Now.

Elsewhere, the San Jose is in the market for another goaltender. That’s kind of ironic. Pittsburgh has some loose ends to tie up. And, a young, Swedish defenseman is forced to retire early.

Let’s do that hockey.

Devils News

NJ.com: In an interview with Devils head coach Sheldon Keefe, it was revealed that keeping the coaching staff — including goaltending coach Dave Rogalski — was completely Keefe’s decision.

New Jersey Hockey Now: As previously reported by New Jersey Hockey Now, Arseni Gritsyuk will complete his final season in the KHL and make his way to North America when his contract ends. That notion was reinforced again on Friday.

TSN: It really is a shame that Oscar Klefbom’s career had to come to an end so early. Klefbom hasn’t played since the 2019-20 season and on Friday, the 31-year-old announced his retirement. The last time the Swedish defender played, he was 26 years old.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: As the Pittsburgh Penguins and president of hockey operations/GM Kyle Dubas push forward what they hope will be a swift retool while Sidney Crosby remains the organization’s standard bearer, there remain some loose ends and unanswered questions.

San Jose Hockey Now: The San Jose Sharks currently own the former Devil goaltending tandem in Mackenzie Blackwood and Vitek Vanecek. Yet, general manager Mike Grier is looking for another goaltender.

Florida Hockey Now: Sergei Bobrovsky is a Stanley Cup Champion and was a big reason for why the Florida Panthers won the Stanley Cup. He’s been ranked within the top-10 among all goaltenders for next season, however, is he still too low?

Montreal Hockey Now: Montreal Canadiens prospect forward Joshua Roy is a young player who has seemingly overcame the odds ever since he was drafted to the NHL. Yet, the 21-year-old still deserves more credit.
