Devils Daily: Mercer Contract Option; Jagr’s Tribute to Gaudreau Brothers

Well, we’re three days into September and the New Jersey Devils have yet to come to terms with Dawson Mercer on a new contract. There’s still no concern it won’t get done, but the clock is ticking.

Perhaps, the new structure brought to light by Seth Jarvis’ new contract could help the two sides resolve things.

Elsewhere, Jaromir Jagr pays tribute to the late Gaudreau brothers, journeymen in Pittsburgh open up, and a former first-round pick signs overseas.
