It was announced back in June that former host, Erika Wachter Barnes, would not be returning as the Devils on-air host following the end of her contract. Since then, fans have speculated who the new host would be, with Herzog getting the job.
She will serve alongside Bill Spaulding, Ken Danekyo, and Bryce Salvador on the Devils MSG Networks telecast as a host and analyst.
Herzog started in 2019 as a studio analyst and ice-side reporter for KMSP FOX9’s coverage of St. Cloud State men’s and women’s hockey. It was there that she was recognized with an Upper Midwest Emmy Award for College Live Sports Production.
In 2022, she joined WDAY-TV in Fargo, North Dakota, and served as a weekend sports anchor and sports reporter.
In a press release, Herzog shared her excitement about joining the Devils broadcasting team, “The hockey community is truly special to me, and it’s a dream to host professional games and join the New Jersey Devils broadcast team,” said Herzog. “As a player and analyst, I’ve dedicated my life to this incredible sport. It’s an honor to join MSG Networks and the New Jersey Devils community, and I’m excited to be a part of such an incredible team.”
Devils fans won’t have to wait long to see their new on-air host as preseason gets underway on Sunday, Sept. 22 against the New York Islanders. The regular season begins Friday, Oct. 4 against the Buffalo Sabres in Czechia.
