New Jersey Devils Reveal 2024-25 Training Camp Roster

The New Jersey Devils revealed their 2024-25 training camp roster on Wednesday morning as a handful of rookies and veterans report.

There are 68 players at camp, composed of 40 forwards, 20 defensemen and eight goaltenders.

The list of players is as follows:

Devils Forwards

Until Dawson Mercer and the Devils figure out a contract, the restricted free agent will not report.

Luke Hughes was left off the roster due to the injury he sustained during offseason training. His projected return is in early November, according to the Devils.

Due to Hughes’ absence, players such as Santeri Hatakka and Seamus Casey (who participated in last week’s prospect challenge) have a chance to secure a spot on the Devils’ roster for opening night.

There are also four players who are competing for a contract on a professional tryout. Those names include Kevin Labanc, Jakub Zboril, Michael Hutchinson, and Andy Welenski.

The Devils are participating in media day on Wednesday in preparation for the 2024-25 season. The first day of on-ice activities begin on Thursday.
