The New Jersey Devils (0-2-0) jump right back into preseason action at the Prudential Center as they take on the Washington Capitals (0-2-0) tonight at 7:00 P.M. EST.

Last night the Devils dressed a primarily minor league lineup against the Montreal Canadiens, which led to a 3-0 loss.

Meanwhile, the Capitals have lost both their exhibition games thus far, with the most recent coming at the hands of the Boston Bruins, losing 4-2.

The Devils are expected to dress an NHL-heavy lineup, with Jack Hughes, Timo Meier, and Dawson Mercer set to make their preseason debuts. We also should get another look at Jacob Markstrom in net after a solid first game.

Here’s tonight’s projected lineup:

Next Up

After tonight’s game the Devils will have just one preseason game left before the board a flight to Prague. They’ll take on the New York Islanders out on Long Island to wrap up a condensed preseason.

With such little time left to get ready for the season opener on Oct. 4 against the Buffalo Sabres, expect Sheldon Keefe to field a lineup that’ll look similar to opening night over the next two contests.
