The New Jersey Devils (0-3-0) are back in action, in what will be the final preseason game for the NHL squad before they head over the Atlantic to Prague. A second meeting with the New York Islanders (1-2-0) will take place, this time at UBS Arena.

Last time out, the Devils fell to the Capitals 5-3, but were highlighted by the first game action of the year from Jack HughesTimo Meier, and Dawson Mercer.

Meanwhile, the Islanders enter the second half of a back-to-back, having lost 2-0 to the Philadelphia Flyers.

The Devils are expected to again dress an NHL-heavy lineup in their final dress rehearsal for before the start of the regular season. Expect most of the opening night roster to play, although it remains to be seen if Erik Haula makes his preseason debut, having just recently returned to practice.

After two standout games from Seamus Casey, and a recent injury to Santeri Hatakka, look for Casey to make one last push for a spot on the flight to Prague.

Here’s tonight’s projected lineup:

After tonight’s game, Sheldon Keefe and his staff with finalize the 26 players who will head over to Prague to start the season. Those who don’t make it will stick around for the final three preseason games.

With such little time left to get ready for the season opener on Oct. 4 against the Buffalo Sabres, let’s see if the Devils play with a little more intensity after a lackluster performance against the Capitals.
