Today the games start to count. After wrapping up the preseason last night, the New Jersey Devils are ready to drop the puck on the 2024-25 season this afternoon. Taking part in that game will be one of their top prospects, who will be making his NHL debut after a stellar camp.

Elsewhere, we have our first insight into ‘Faceoff: Inside the NHL’, Amazon’s NHL documentary. Highlighted by a fiery speech from Connor McDavid during the Stanley Cup Finals, the new documentary gives us behind-the-scenes access like we’ve never seen before. Also, the Pittsburgh Penguins get their star defenseman back.

New Jersey Hockey Now: After a breakout camp and some team misfortune on the injury front, top prospect Seamus Casey is set to make his NHL debut at the Global Series. The 2022 second-round pick is partnered with 2022 second-overall pick Simon Nemec.

The show does a tremendous job showing insight into the lives of players such as Connor McDavid, David Pastrnak, Matthew Tkachuk and others on, and off the ice.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Penguins star defenseman Erik Karlsson has resumed skating for the first time since sustaining an injury before the start of training camp.

Colorado Hockey Now: In somewhat of a surprise move, the Colorado Avalanche have announced they are releasing veteran forward Pierre-Edouard Bellemare from his PTO. The 39-year-old was in a position battle for a spot in the bottom of the lineup but now heads back to free agency.
