Devils Daily: Keefe’s Strategic Game Plan; Potential NHL Trade Update; Surprise Scratch
Two wins in a row? That’s a win streak. And now the New Jersey Devils will go for their third in a row tonight which would be their first of the season if they convert. Head coach Sheldon Keefe had a game plan in mind for that when calculating with goaltender would start which game in the back-to-back situation.

Elsewhere, Timothy Liljegren not focused on potential NHL trade, Boston’s identity is being used against them, and Matthew Tkachuk could be out a bit longer than expected.

New Jersey Hockey Now: The Devils play in the second leg of a back-to-back situation over the next two days. Technically, they’re 1-0-0 in the second half following the Global Series, but that is its own animal. Head coach Sheldon Keefe revealed his calculated goaltending plan to maximize success over the next two days.
Devils Report Card: The Devils played a near perfect game, earning them some honor roll scores across the board against the Utah Hockey Club.

Sportsnet: The Toronto Maple Leafs are looking for an NHL trade fit for Timothy Liljegren. However, the 25-year-old defenseman is focused on getting back into the lineup.
Pittsburgh Hockey Now: After a couple of early struggles through two games, rookie Rutger McGroarty found himself as the odd-man out on Monday.
Boston Hockey Now: The Boston Bruins are evidently in denial. The Florida Panthers have certainly stolen the Bs identity and have out-Bruins-ed the Bruins twice already this season.
Florida Hockey Now: The Florida Panthers will be without star player Matthew Tkachuk, perhaps a little longer than expected.
Buffalo Hockey Now: The Buffalo Sabres practiced on Monday after a day off, but the intensity from Saturday night’s win over the Panthers did not wear off. The Sabres held an uptempo, quick puck-moving practice that resulted in tempers flaring and a fight involving the team’s captain.
