Devils Daily: Surprise Rangers Transaction; Reinforcements Not Enough

The New Jersey Devils get right back to it today when the host the New York Islanders on home ice. If we’re being honest, if the Devils play the way they did last night every night, they’re going to be just fine. However, it was the play in net that hurt them the most with a dash underwhelming penalty killing, even with the reinforcements in the lineup.



Let’s see how they respond.

Elsewhere, the Blueshirts make a surprise demotion, Pittsburgh makes a statement with Tristan Jarry, ans Matvei Michkov keeps on impressing.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Pittsburgh’s highest paid goaltender has certainly become a distraction. While the Pittsburgh Penguins practiced Thursday in Edmonton, goaltender Tristan Jarry not only wasn’t on the ice; he was no longer with the team. Jarry has been sent back to Pittsburgh.

Philly Hockey Now: With two points against the Washington Capitals in a 6-3 loss on Wednesday night, star rookie Matvei Michkov has officially etched his name in Philadelphia Flyers history. It’s been seven games, and he’s etched in the history books with names like Eric Lindros.
