Devils Daily: Late Night NHL Trade; Nemec Development Questions; Rempe’s Controversial Return

It appears when the New Jersey Devils take the ice tonight in Vancouver, there will be but one change to the lineup. That means the blue line will stay the way it has been ever since Luke Hughes and Brett Pesce returned from injury. Unfortunately, that leaves Simon Nemec as the odd-man out, which raises questions about his development.
More on that in the links.
Elsewhere, the Blueshirts also raise critical development questions with Matt Rempe, Buffalo’s captain fined, and Connor McDavid’s injury impacts… Philly?
Plus, late-night NHL trade.
Let’s do that hockey.
Devils News
New Jersey Hockey Now: Devils head coach Sheldon Keefe explains Simon Nemec’s lineup spot was lost, what his short-term plan is to return to games.
More NJHN: Speaking of Nemec, the Devils have been here before when it comes to managing the development of a young, high profile talent. They need to avoid previous developmental mistakes.

NHL Trade Talk, News, & National Hockey Now

NY Post: The New York Rangers recalled Matt Rempe just four games into his reassignment to the American Hockey League. The Blueshirts are saying they want him to develop, but his quick recall raises critical development questions. Are the Rangers feeding into Rempe’s enforcer narrative?
Sportsnet: Ever since becoming the captain of the Buffalo Sabres, it feels like Rasmus Dahlin has become a bit unhinged. He was fined $5,000 on Tuesday, the maximum allowed under the CBA, for high-sticking Anton Lundell of the Florida Panthers.
Colorado Hockey Now: The Colorado Avalanche dodged the first bullet when Ross Colton had an injury scare a few nights ago. However, he suffered a lower-body injury in the following game that will see Colton “miss some time.”
Philly Hockey Now: Believe it or not, the severity of Connor McDavid‘s injury has implications on the Philadelphia Flyers.
