The New Jersey Devils have a rare second day off in a row today. They don’t return to game action until Thursday when they host the Carolina Hurricanes. However, no one in the NHL has played more games than them thus far and after playing in six games in the last 10 days, they certainly needed the rest.

We’ll see if the two reassigned Devils—a transaction on Sunday morning—return to the varsity squad. If not, that means the Devils have plans to fill those roster spots some other way. It’s certainly something to monitor.

In the links, who is the Devils’ top rising prospect?

Elsewhere, a shakeup in Boston is intensifying, tough news for Philly’s young defenseman, and Ryan Reaves receives a hefty suspension.
