The New Jersey Devils might have lost last night, but it wasn’t for a lack of trying. Especially from their superstar, Jack Hughes. He had a record setting night for the 2024-25 season and perhaps played his best game of the year.

The Devils play two more games on home ice before the holiday break.

Also in New Jersey, Paul Cotter receives words of encouragement from the Devils’ GM, and Seamus Casey is going to miss some time with an injury.

Elsewhere, San Jose begins extension talks with an ex-Devils forward, Lou Lamoriello’s time could be running out, and Sidney Crosby predicts the future.

Let’s do that hockey.

Devils News

New Jersey Hockey Now: Paul Cotter has 0 points in his last 15 games. That doesn’t matter, however, the Devils’ GM says as Tom Fitzgerald sends Cotter a message.

More NJHN: It appears the Devils’ top prospect is hurt. Seamus Casey could be out “weeks” with an upper-body injury.

Even More: Despite Jack Hughes‘ record setting night, Elvis Merzlikins wows in 41-save performance and swipes two points away from the Devils.
