Yesterday, some comments from the New Jersey Devils’ top prospect ran rampant on social media. It’s important to keep in mind 1) Simon Nemec was led to that answer by the question asked, and 2) things get lost in translation. So, we reached out to see f the organization was aware of any rift with the former second overall selection.

NHL Trade Talk, News, & National Hockey Now

Sportsnet: En route to one record, Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin broke another. With his 21st goal of the season, Ovi has now scored on more goalies than anyone in NHL history.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Buried within Pittsburgh Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas’s impromptu press conference at the front of the Penguins locker room at their practice facility in Cranberry were a couple of nuggets that cut to the heart of the situation and goalie Tristan Jarry’s future with the organization.

Boston Hockey Now: Boston Bruins president Cam Neely says the team must prepare as the NHL Trade Deadline approaches, and there are two paths they can take.

San Jose Hockey Now: This is certainly an argument we’ve heard amongst media and fans. However, now the players are saying it as San Jose Sharks defenseman, Marc-Edouard Vlasic says there should be two NHL awards for defensemen.

NYI Hockey Now: More and more NHL trade speculation grows around the New York Islanders as defenseman Scott Mayfield is the latest name to join the trade boards.

Chicago Hockey Now: Welcome back, Chicago Hockey Now! There’s plenty of season left, but the playoffs are a lost cause for the Chicago Blackhawks, as expected. Perhaps the Devils are one of the vulture’s circling the body when they’re ready to sell assets. But, for now, the rest of the season for the ‘Hawks is about developing their youth.
