As the 4 Nations Face-Off draws nearer, the NHL trade activity is picking up. First, Mikko Rantanen flew off the board in the blockbuster last week. Then, Philly and Calgary connect on a big deal last night. It’s just a matter of time before the New Jersey Devils general manager throws his hat in the ring.

He has options, too. Obviously, the NHL trade route. However, the Devils have also been linked to a free agent forward.

Elsewhere, the details in last night’s trade, Taylor Hall gets real candid about his trade from Chicago, and trade bait wants to stay in San Jose.

Let’s do that hockey.

Devils News

New Jersey Hockey Now: The Devils have been linked by insider Frank Seravalli to free agent forward Brandon Saad as a possible landing destination.

More NJHN: And if that doesn’t work out, Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser is reportedly available on the NHL trade market, and he’s the shooter the Devils need.

Even More: The Devils looked a lot more like themselves on Wednesday against the Philadelphia Flyers. Here’s how they got their swagger back.

NHL Trade Talk, News, & National Hockey Now

TSN: In some absolutely brutal news for the Dallas Stars and Team Finland, Miro Heiskanen is week-to-week with a lower-body injury, ruled out for the 4 Nations tournament.

Philly Hockey Now: The Philadelphia Flyers and Calgary Flames connected on a big NHL trade last night. Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost head to Calgary in exchange for Andrei Kuzmenko, Jakob Pelletier, and draft picks.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: In what should come as no surprise to just about everyone, Team Canada on Thursday announced that Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby will serve a team captain for the upcoming 4 Nations Face-Off.

San Jose Hockey Now: The San Jose Sharks have some pending free agents who would certainly net them some valuable assets. Although it’s unlikely, said players have expressed a desire to stay.

Florida Hockey Now: Adam Boqvist could have played his final game with the Florida Panthers after being placed on NHL waivers by the team on Thursday.

Vegas Hockey Now: Perhaps, Tomas Hertl is one of the quietest players in the NHL on a heater. The Vegas Golden Knights forward reacts to his 10-game point streak, which was extended to 11 games following another goal last night.

Chicago Hockey Now: Taylor Hall knew his time with the Chicago Blackhawks was coming to an end. His role diminished, and as a result, so did his play. In fact, he admitted he was, “happy to be traded.”
