In the span of a week, there have been three significant NHL trades. It all started two Fridays ago when the Mikko Rantanen blockbuster transpired. Then, Philly and Calgary connected on a deal, followed by the J.T. Miller trade. What’s significant about all three of those deals? They all involved teams in the Metropolitan Division. Perhaps, the New Jersey Devils want to get involved sooner than later.

Vegas Hockey Now: That was fast. Brandon Saad would have been a fit for the Devils. However, he chose the Vegas Golden Knights. The former St. Louis Blues forward inked a one-year prorated deal to head to Sin City.

Philly Hockey Now: Does Thursday night’s Philadelphia Flyers trade indicate there’s more activity to come? PhHNs William James thinks that just might be the case.

Chicago Hockey Now: Speaking of the Flyers, CHNs Greg Boyson says a Chicago Blackhawks trade the one between Philly and Calgary is necessary to progress the rebuild.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Tristan Jarry isn’t around anymore. The Pittsburgh Penguins demoted him to the AHL as a result of poor play. Alex Nedeljkovic has since taken the Penguins’ net, and run with the opportunity. (+)

Florida Hockey Now: The Florida Panthers lost defenseman Adam Boqvist on Friday when the defenseman was claimed by the New York Islanders off NHL waivers.
