The New Jersey Devils (29-19-6) conclude their short road trip in Steel City against the Pittsburgh Penguins (22-24-8). After the Pens received some false hope, stringing together some impressive wins early on, it now appears they’re headed in the other direction.



The Penguins have begun selling assets to recoup for the future. They’re also without cornerstone center, Evgeni Malkin to injury.

Sire, Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang are still in the fold. However, without much of their key players, it’s New Jersey’s time to pounce.

What to Know vs. Penguins

— The Devils and Pittsburgh face-off for the second of four matchups this season (1-0-0).

— The Devils and goaltender Jacob Markstrom shut out the Pens in the first meeting, after the Devils held Pittsburgh to 12 shots.

— Stefan Noesen, Nico Hischier and Timo Meier (ENG) all found the back of the net in the first meeting.

— The Devils are 7-1-0 against Pittsburgh since 2022-23. The Devils haven’t lost at Pittsburgh since April 24, 2021 (4-2, L).

— New Jersey enters Tuesday’s contest riding a five-game road winning-streak against Pittsburgh. The franchise’s longest road winning streak against Pittsburgh is eight games, which was recorded from Feb. 9, 2002, to Oct. 20, 2005. The Devils have outscored Pittsburgh 24-9 over the five-game (road) streak.
