NJHN Daily: Devils Yegorov Receives Honor Amid Championship Win; NHL Trade News

One goal would be all that Mikhail Yegorov would allow against Boston College in the first six-plus minutes of the Beanpot final at TD Garden on Monday. Then, the New Jersey Devils prospect goaltender slammed the door, making 43 saves on 44 shots to propel Boston University to claiming the Beanpot Championship. As a result, Yegorov was named the Eberly Award winner.
The Eberly Trophy is an award given to the goaltender with the highest save percentage in the Beanpot men’s ice hockey tournament. The numbers speak for themselves.

As our Nick Natale wrote last week, the Devils might have found their goaltender of the future in Yegorov. Those who watch him play, especially in the big moments, throw around the words “special” or “unbelievable” when referencing his body of work.
In the links, the base price for a Devils trade target has been set. Jack Hughes’ wish is granted at the 4 Nations Face-Off.
Elsewhere, Sidney Crosby’s good to go, and big names remain on the NHL trade boards.
Let’s do that hockey.

NHL Trade Talk, News, & National Hockey Now
Sportsnet: There are a plethora of rumors flying regarding the NHL trade market. The aforementioned Evans news is part of that. However, there are some bigger names out there too, such as St. Louis Blues captain, Brayden Schenn.
Pittsburgh Hockey Now: After some initial doubt, Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby told a throng of reporters Monday that he is good to go for Team Canada and will participate in the 4 Nations Face-Off.
Colorado Hockey Now: It wasn’t on anyone’s bingo card to see the Colorado Avalanche trade Mikko Rantanen. The pending unrestricted free agent is sure to command a big pay raise this summer. If the Carolina Hurricanes cannot give Rantanen what he wants, could we really see him in another NHL trade, perhaps before the deadline?
NYI Hockey Now: The entire hockey world seemed to be talking all about the New York Islanders and their decision with Brock Nelson. Said decision has to do with whether they’ll pursue an NHL trade involving the soon 34-year-old center or not. Russ Macias has the latest.
