NJHN Daily: Devils Begin Adding; Multiple Rantanen Offers; NHL Trade Deadline Day

It’s officially 2025 NHL Trade Deadline day. The New Jersey Devils, as reported in the links below, are buyers. Perhaps, they’re buying big. They’ve certainly at least phoned in a call to do their due diligence on all the top names.
The deadline will seemingly be different this year. Last season, most of the action was out of the way at this point. However, this season, there’s still plenty of action left to unfold. How soon before the first shoe drops?
Last night, Arthur Staple reported the New York Islanders will be trading Brock Nelson. He wound up going to the Colorado Avalanche, and yes, the Devils are disappointed.
Plus, a bunch more NHL trade deadline stories from around the league.
Let’s do that hockey.

Elliotte Friedman reported last night that the Dallas Stars had the framework of a deal with the Carolina Hurricanes for the Finnish star. Now, it’s a matter of if they can agree to an extension. Will this one cross the finish line?
Pittsburgh Hockey Now: The intrigue deepened Thursday morning as the TSN insiders cast the Pittsburgh Penguins trade involving Luke Schenn as a potentially temporary relationship.
Boston Hockey Now: Brad Marchand is a 16-year Boston Bruins forward. On Thursday night, word began to surface that Brad Marchand could be traded as the Bs navigate a retool.

Colorado Hockey Now: No one is smiling harder than Martin Necas. The Colorado Avalanche forward heard about the Carolina Hurricanes’ predicament with Mikko Rantanen. He had some wise words for his former club. “They probably should have known that he would sign in Carolina if he gets there.”
Florida Hockey Now: The Florida Panthers can’t stop and won’t stop adding. They’ve acquired forward Nico Sturm and goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen in separate deals.
