After wins like Tuesday night’s, it’s easy to wake up in a good mood. The New Jersey Devils certainly will, receiving the day off amid a busy week when points have become their most crucial. They created a bit of separation for themselves on Tuesday, however, have a hungry Edmonton Oilers team ahead on Thursday. They’ll need to be ready.

In the links, have the Devils found their 3C? Cody Glass continues to impress, albeit, in a small sample size. Still, the Devils’ head coach spoke very highly of Glass after last night’s win.

Elsewhere, the Mikko Rantanen drama continues after his agent claps back at Rod Brind’Amour’s comments, an inside look at Fabian Zetterlund’s contract situation with his former club in San Jose, and Nikita Zadorov pummels Sam Bennett.

Let’s do that hockey.

NHL Trade Talk, News, & National Hockey Now

Boston Hockey Now: It’s too bad Brad Marchand had to sit out of last night’s Boston Bruins tilt with the Cats. We might never know what it would be like should he have to get physical with his former club. Nikita Zadorov, however, had no issue dropping the mitts, pummeling Sam Bennett in a bout of fisticuffs.

San Jose Hockey Now: What was ex-Devil Fabian Zetterlund looking for contractually? And how far apart were the San Jose Sharks and Zetterlund? Sheng Peng has the inside scoop. (+)

Florida Hockey Now: Brad Marchand made his Florida Panthers debut (sort of) on Tuesday when he took the ice with his teammates for practice. Best part? He was still in Boston as the Panthers practiced at TD Garden ahead of the Panthers’ tilt with the Bruins on Tuesday.

Philly Hockey Now: John Tortorella explained that Jaime Drysdale won’t make it in the NHL as a defensive defenseman. He’s coached up the defenseman to a more aggressive style of play. Here’s how that is working out for the Philadelphia Flyers defenseman.

Sportsnet: Rod Brind’Amour had some pretty stark remarks about the departure of Mikko Rantanen. Well, the Finnish stars agent, Andy Scott, clapped back at the Carolina Hurricanes’ head coach, “He’s completely misinformed.”
