Unfortunately for everyone involved, tonight’s Hughes-bowl will be a little lacking. New Jersey Devils (37-27-6) superstar forward, Jack Hughes (shoulder surgery), won’t be participating with Luke Hughes when brother Quinn and the Vancouver Canucks (32-26-12) enter the Prudential Center on Monday.

Still, this game has implications. Both clubs are somewhat floundering their way to the postseason, although the Devils at least have a cushion, while the Canucks are still on the chase.

Regardless, a playoff-like mentality is the word in the Devils’ locker-room. And, with the Canucks desperate, the Devils could see that kind of push.

What to Know vs. Canucks

—The Devils and Vancouver conclude their 2024-25 regular-season series (1-0-0).

—Brenden Dillon logged a career-high +4 plus/minus rating.

— Nico Hischier (1g-2a), Dawson Mercer (1g-1a) and Jack Hughes (1g-1a) all logged multi-point efforts in the contest.
