New Jersey Devils

Earlier this month, the New Jersey Devils (38-28-7) were manhandled, embarrassed by the superior Winnipeg Jets (49-19-4) on home ice. Now, in their barn, they face further adversity as their reinforcements are even on the shelf.

The Jets are one of the few teams that have already staked their claim in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. They’re 7-3-0 in their last 10 games, as opposed to the Devils, who are just trying to survive at 5-4-1.

New Jersey’s cushion, sitting third place in the Metropolitan Division, remains at nine points as regular season games are dwindling. Still, the New York Islanders, New York Rangers, and Columbus Blue Jackets are all lingering, despite their unlikelihood to eclipse them in the standings.

What to Know vs. Jets

—The Devils and Winnipeg conclude their 2024-25 regular-season series (0-1-0).

— The last time out: The Devils suffered a 6-1 loss at the Rock, while the team was outscored 3-1 in the third period. Dawson Mercer earned the lone goal for the Devils.
