The Devils will be well represented at the 2025 Frozen Four with Mikhail Yegorov, Shane LaChance, and Samu Salminen competing for the championship.

The New Jersey Devils will be well represented at the 2025 NCAA Frozen Four. Three Devils prospects will compete for the NCAA Division I Championship.
One of the hottest names in college hockey in recent months has been Devils prospect goaltender, Mikhail Yegorov. The Russian import goaltender took the NCAA by storm with his electric play in net and encapsulating personality on and off the ice.
In 16 games with the Boston University (2) this season, Yegorov accrued an elite 2.04 GAA and .931 SV% including one shutout.
Joining Yegorov with Boston is newly acquired Devils prospect forward, Shane LaChance.
The Devils acquired LaChance from Edmonton for facilitating an existing trade between the Edmonton Oilers and Boston Bruins for Trent Frederic.
The 6-foot-5, 218 lb forward captains Boston University. He scored 11 goals and 29 points in 38 games this season. LaChance was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the sixth round, 186th overall, in the 2021 NHL Draft. His father, Scott LaChance, is head of U.S. scouting in New Jersey.
The final of three Devils prospects to represent New Jersey in the 2025 Frozen Four is forward Samu Salminen, playing for David Carle at the University of Denver (3).
Salminen is a talented Finnish forward drafted by the Devils in the third round, 68th overall, of the 2021 NHL Draft. This season, he’s registered 10 goals and 27 points in 42 NCAA games.
The tournament’s semifinal is set to begin on April 10th via ESPN 2. The championship game will be played on April 12th.
Although Salminen is playing for his first championship with the University of Denver, the Denver is competing for their second straight title and third in their last four years.
The semi-final round will see Denver facing the first-seeded Western Michigan University, while Boston faces the fourth-seeded Penn State University.
