All this talk of offer sheets, and the New Jersey Devils have one glaring restricted free agent this summer.

However, the Devils very much could be in the offer sheet game. We picked three candidates that the Devils could target this summer in the links below. New Jersey Hockey Now: General manager Tom Fitzgerald might have tipped his hand at the idea of going the route of an offer sheet this summer. It seems to be the new shiny toy for GMs to utilize over the summer. Here are three potential candidates the Devils could target in the offseason.

The Athletic ($): Continuing the offer sheet conversation, only so many teams will be able to actually extend one over the summer. You can’t just dole one out with the hope it works out. If a team converts, they’re giving up assets for the player. Here are the eight teams who are in the best position to extend an offer sheet. And the Devils are in the mix.

More Athletic ($): One of the main focal points in the current NHL CBA negotiations? Long term injured reserve. There could be changes. We’ll see.
