New Jersey Devils head coach Sheldon Keefe didn’t even want to talk about last night’s game against the Boston Bruins. It’s not the worst approach.

He explained there was nothing to take away from the loss. In short, no one showed up, and no one was good. He took partial blame by saying he didn’t have the team prepared. When the Devils don’t abide by their structure, they essentially have no hope.

More on the Devils’ bad night, and reasons for hope/panic in the links.

Elsewhere, it’s Ivan Demidov-time, Zayne Parekh, too, and trouble for Rutger McGroarty.

Let’s do that hockey.

Devils News

New Jersey Hockey Now: The Devils fumbled their first opportunity to clinch their spot in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs as the lowly Bruins ring up Jacob Markstrom for seven goals.

The Athletic ($): Last night’s loss aside, the Devils still have reasons for hope amid their chase for a spot in the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs. They also have reasons to panic, says Shayna Goldman and Harman Dayal.

NHL Trade Talk, News, & National Hockey Now

Montreal Hockey Now: It’s the moment Montreal Canadiens fans, and hockey lovers alike, have been waiting for. The highly anticipated Russian prospect, Ivan Demidov, inks a three-year contract with the Habs to begin his NHL career. He’ll join the Canadiens amid their quest for the playoffs.

Boston Hockey Now: Yes, the Bruins trounced the Devils last night. However, they sold off at the 2025 NHL Trade Deadline. How are the former Boston Bruins players doing with their new clubs?

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: The Pittsburgh Penguins might be officially eliminated from the playoffs, however, they’re using the rest of this season for some good. They’re giving their youth a look at the NHL, evaluating who could fill out the roster next season. Yet, Rutger McGroarty’s season is in jeopardy as he left Tuesday night’s tilt with an injury.

Daily Faceoff: Ivan Demidov isn’t the only high-profile prospect who is NHL-bound. Calgary Flames defenseman, Zayne Parekh, has been called up to the NHL from his junior-league club.
