Today, much like the last couple of days, will be tough emotionally. The New Jersey Devils (41-30-7) host the Pittsburgh Penguins (32-25-12), both of which were impacted by the presence of the late Ray Shero.

Pittsburgh has officially been eliminated from the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs, meanwhile, New Jersey is officially on their way to the postseason.

The Devils will see the Penguins’ youth following a game on Tuesday where they were routed by the last place Boston Bruins.

Head coach Sheldon Keefe is certainly expecting a higher level of compete, despite the lack of implications involved.

—The Devils are 2-1-0 against Pittsburgh this season. The Devils have not lost a season series against Pittsburgh since 2020-21 (2-6-0).

— The Devils are 4-1-0 when playing at home against the Steel City since 2022-23.
