NJHN Daily: Devils Fall at Home; Cotter Suspension; Prospects Sign ELC

In today’s daily, the Devils drop three in a row, Cotter faces a possible suspension, and two prospects are set to sign their ELC’s.

The New Jersey Devils took the ice for their penultimate home game of the regular season, trying to shake off a losing streak. Unfortunately, things did not go to plan.



Also in Devil World, reports have started to swirl that one of the organization’s top prospects is close to signing his entry-level contract.

Elsewhere, the Minnesota Wild officially signed their top prospect, a new Presidents Trophy winner has been crowned, and much more.

New Jersey Hockey Now: In a Sunday matinée, the Devils took on the New York Islanders for the final regular season game against a Metro Division foe. After back-to-back losses against the Boston Bruins and Pittsburgh Penguins, the Devils aimed to get back in the win column. Ilya Sorokin had other plans.

More NJHN: Shortly after the final buzzer in the Islanders game, it was reported that prospect Shane Lachance was close to signing his ELC.

Even More NJHN: Devils forward Paul Cotter faces a possible suspension after hitting Islanders defenseman Adam Pelech in the head with a hit, and Islanders’ players are not happy.

The Athletic: Minnesota Wild officially announced the signing of star defensive prospect Zeev Buium to his ELC. The 12th pick in the 2024 NHL Draft will report to the team and practice Monday.

Sports Illustrated: The red-hot Winnipeg Jets have clinched the franchise’s first-ever Presidents Trophy. The Jets’ dominant season means that the Stanley Cup runs through Winnipeg.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: After another tumultuous season in Pittsburgh, Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan had some choice words for his team.

Florida Hockey Now: A familiar name for Devils fans stood tall for the Florida Panthers in their shootout win. Goalie Vitek Vanecek made 26 saves in an impressive win for the Panthers.
