After 16 long years, ex-New Jersey Devils forward Alexander Mogilny is to be inducted into the Hall-of-Fame as part of the class of 2025.

It’s finally happened. Ex-New Jersey Devils forward, Alexander Mogilny, is going to be inducted into the Hockey Hall-of-Fame as part of the Class of 2025.
Joining Alexander Mogilny is Joe Thornton, Zdeno Chara, Duncan Keith, Brianna Decker, Jennifer Botterill, Danièle Sauvageau, and Jack Parker.
During his tenure with the Devils in the 2000-01 season, Mogilny showcased his elite talent, recording 58 goals and 114 points in 121 games across two seasons. His speed, precision, and offensive prowess bolstered New Jersey’s lineup, significantly contributing to the team’s run to capture the Stanley Cup in 2000 and for their run in the 2001 Stanley Cup Final. Mogilny’s impact on the ice elevated the Devils’ competitive standing and left a lasting impression on the organization.

Mogilny’s career extends far beyond his time in New Jersey. As one of the first Soviet players to defect to the NHL, he broke new ground with the Buffalo Sabres, where he achieved a remarkable 76-goal season in 1992-93 as one of the league’s most dominant scorers. Amassing 1,032 points (473 goals, 559 assists) in 990 career games, Mogilny’s earned All-Star honors twice, and won the Lady Byng in the 2002-03 season.
Mogilny retired from hockey following the 2005-06 season. He’s been eligible to enter the Hall-of-Fame since 2009. For 16 seasons, Mogilny has been passed on to be inducted to the Hall-of-Fame.
That streak finally comes to an end.
Patrik Elias, who was also eligible, did not receive an induction as part of the class of 2025.
