Devils News
NJHN Daily: Devils Add; Free Agency Fallout; Rivals Trade; & More

NHL Free Agency is always “going to be wild…” until it isn’t. For the New Jersey Devils, Day One of free agency was good.
Is it enough? No, probably not. I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again, the Devils have not replaced Tyler Toffoli since they traded him two deadlines ago. The by committee approach bit them this year, and they certainly didn’t get enough help filling the net.
However, they did make some sneaky good adds. More on that in the links.
Plus, plenty more from Day One of free agency.
Let’s do that hockey.
Devils Trade Rumors & News
New Jersey Hockey Now: The Devils got down to a fair bit of business yesterday. It started with retaining Jake Allen on a surprising, long-term contract.
The Devils followed that with signing forwards Connor Brown and Evgenii Dadonov to respective contracts that should certainly strengthen their depth.
Tom Fitzgerald also added a few players who are likely to play in the American Hockey League, yet, have upside NHL potential.

NHL Trade Talk, News, & National Hockey Now
Forever Blueshirts: The New York Rangers trade K’Andre Miller to the Carolina Hurricanes for a prospect and some valuable daft capitol.
NYI Hockey Now: Mathieu Darche has an interesting outlook on how to handle the New York Islanders. They’re not quite in a rebuild. You could call it somewhat of a re-tool. Their big splash yesterday was Jonathan Drouin. They also brought in David Rittch. Then, Darche ended the day with extending his own in Simon Holmstrom and Tony DeAngelo.
Pittsburgh Hockey Now: With Alexander Nedeljokovic involved in a Pittsburgh Penguins trade, Kyle Dubas appears to be sorting through the goaltending situation.
Boston Hockey Now: How does Tanner Jeannot keep finding ways to get paid like this? No offense to the player, but I just feel like I don’t hear his name pop up enough throughout a season to believe this is his second long-term extension in his career. He’s now with the Boston Bruins for the next five seasons.
San Jose Hockey Now: Here’s one that perhaps slipped under the radar. John Klingberg will continue to play in the NHL. This time, he’ll attempt to revive his career with the San Jose Sharks.
Vegas Hockey Now: Perhaps, the Vegas Golden Knights were one of those teams on the tail end of their trajectory before July 1st. However, with the acquisition of Mitch Marner reopens their contention window.
