NJHN Daily: Bold Devils Trade; Islanders Darche Impressing; Coveted KHLer Inked

You can read more about the New Jersey Devils trade that brought Thomas Bordeleau to Newark. However, I’m gonna spitball a little.
The trade was a complete no-brainer. Bordeleau is an AHL All-Star and has proven he can score at the NHL level. He’s undersized, but supremely skilled, quick, and smart. He could be a sneaky add for next to nothing in terms of giving up Shane Bowers. Nothing against Bowers, but between him and Bordeleau, the latter has a much better chance at an NHL career.
This was a win.
Elsewhere, Mathieu Darche is impressing on Long Island, the top KHL free-agent signs an NHL contract, and NHL Free Agency news.
Let’s do that hockey.
Devils Trade Rumors & News
New Jersey Hockey Now: Cody Glass didn’t sign his qualifying offer with the Devils worth $2.5 million. Instead, he doubled it and signed a two-year extension to remain in New Jersey.
Glass wasn’t the only center the Devils locked down on Wednesday, however. General manager Tom Fitzgerald pulled the trigger on a Devils trade, netting a skilled, young forward, Thomas Bordeleau, who gets a fresh start in New Jersey.
