Yes, it’s a bottom-feeder opponent, but the New Jersey Devils’ response after Tuesday’s loss will say a lot about them.

Elsewhere, centers on the NHL trade market, J.T. Miller’s return to Vancouver, and Nashville’s unraveling under their GM.

NHL Trade Talk, News, & National Hockey Now

NHL.com: Talk about a Mammoth of an extension! Logan Cooley and Utah agree to an eight-year, $80 million contract extension.

The Athletic ($): J.T. Miller returned to Vancouver to face the Canucks for the first time since he was traded to the New York Rangers. Thomas Drance explains why it was a trade the no one really won.

Montreal Hockey Now: We talked about Nazem Kari being a fit for the Devils on the show last week with David Pagnotta. However, the NHL insider explained he’d cost a premium the Devils likely wouldn’t want to pay. However, the Montreal Canadiens might. And the Calgary Flames forward is being linked to them.

TSN: And in addition to Kadri, ex-Devils forward, Pavel Zacha, finds his name on the rumor mill, too.

San Jose Hockey Now: You saw it last week when the Devils hosted them, and you’ll see it again tonight. The San Jose Sharks are oozing with a plethora of offensive talent. Do you know what the rest of the league hopes they don’t figure out? How to defend.

Daily Faceoff: Perhaps promoting a coach to a general manager isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. The Nashville Predators are unraveling under Barry Trotz.
