Devils Cut Two More Players from Preseason Roster
The Devils preseason roster is down to 40 players including 22 forwards, 11 defensemen, and 7 goalies.
The New Jersey Devils cut two players from the preseason roster on Monday.
Remaining on the roster are 40 players including 22 forwards, 11 defensemen, and 7 goalies.
According to New Jersey, forward Kyle Criscuolo has been placed on waivers. Defenseman Michael Vukojevic has, been sent to Utica of the American Hockey League.
Crisciolo signed a one-year, two-way contract in June. In order for him to report to Utica, he must clear waivers. However, if unclaimed by 2:00 PM on Tuesday, he’ll be reassigned to the Comets. Criscuolo, a New Jersey native, spent last season with the San Jose Barracudas, the San Jose Sharks American Hockey League affiliate.
Vukojevic doesn’t require waivers and will report right to Utica. The 22-year-old defenseman is entering his third season with the Comets. Last season, Vukojevic scored two goals and an assist in 37 AHL games.
The Devils have three games left in the preseason, including Monday night against the New York Islanders. The closer we inch to the regular season, the clearer the opening night roster will certainly become. Max Willman remains on a professional tryout with New Jersey. Additionally, the Devils have a number of prospects still competing for a roster spot such as Tyce Thompson, Alexander Holtz, Nolan Foote, and Simon Nemec, among others.
